Baier offers three different kinds of steel watertight hatches for commercial workboats:
Steel Baier Flush Hatches. Many of the Baier's line of round and oval lift-out and hinged flush deck hatches are available in Grade 7036 ASTM A27 cast steel alloy and hot-dip galvanized for corrosion resistance. Steel hatches have up to 300% greater impact resistance, energy absorption, and ductility versus iron (especially at low temperatures). Simply stated, a steel marine hatch can take considerably more.
Universal Steel Hatches. These industry standard type steel hatches have been used on workboat and barges worldwide. These proven hatch enclose systems feature simple proven designs, dissimilar metals on all operating features and are made of ASTM A36 steel.
Universal Manholes. multi-bolt manholes serves as a great inexpensive option for applications where frequent access is not required. Ideal for tank top covers, fuel and water tank access, inspection access to ship voids, bulkheads, barges, sanitary and digester tanks, clean outs and more. These water-tight manholes feature simple designs and utilize high strength steel.
