Baier Flush Deck hatches feature standard safety features such as built-in underside escape handles. All of our hatches have either a built in T-handle or can be operated with a secured and stowable hex head T-handle wrench. Our Commercial hatches are secured using either the adjustable 4- dog quick acting styles or the traditional strongback style that allow you to adjust the clamping pressure. Designed for workboats, these hatches and multi-bolt steel manhole covers are ideal watertight closures. Engagement styles: Built-in T-handle or hex-drive center-bolt with strongback, Quick-acting 4-dog, and multi-bolt closure mechanisms.

Classic HEX Centerbolt style flush Deck hatch is the benchmark of the Baier Hatch Company. This simple hatch features only two moving parts and has been sold by Baier hatch since the companies start back in 1947. A few adjustments have been made over the years to improve the sealing and stregnth of the hatch but it is still the simplest and most reliable hatch on the market today.
T-Handle Strongback Style Flush Deck hatch uses the same simple design of the above mentioned hatch but has one distinct improvement. The Built in T-handle means the hatch is read to operate with out the use of any additional tools or wrenches. The strongback design means this hatch can be tighten down to any amount of torque.
Quick Acting 4-Dog style hatch Allows the clamping load to be spread across 4 points of contact. Its built in T-handle turns an easy quarter turn to engage the underside dog arms. This hatch ia quick and easy to use. This hatch also features Positive visual verification the hatch is dogged down. If the handle is down the hatch is secured.
Quick Acting Low Profile style hatch is the ultimate hybrid. It's most unique feature is is low profile design for use in areas with minimal underside clearance. As such this hatch was also designed with spring loaded dog arm so the hatch can be installed in vertical applications as well. A hatch for bulk head access. This hatch uses the HEX Centerbolt and requires the T-handle too to operate. The Centerbolt also pops up to provide positive visual verification.
Multi Bolt Manholes style hatches are used as access to ship voids and compartments. Various bolting methods are availible from flush Hex Screws to raised coaming styles. All Covers and Rings built from high Quality Steel and all hardware made from Stainless steel and Bronze. Disimilar metals are used on hard ware to prevent gauling and siezing.
Universal Steel Styles Hatches are also availible. These hatches are built from steel and are typically used in heavy indutrial applications.
